I hope you guys have been enjoying my Tron Homage this week and last.
I’ve done a few nods to Tron before in my comic but never a full blown Tron Homage and since the new Tron movie (Also known as “Tron: Legacy”) is in production and due to be released this year I thought it was about time I played a bit with the world of Tron.
As you can tell if you’ve been following these comics I’ve mainly been focusing on the 1982 Tron since it’s a childhood favorite. (What is it about movies we grew up with that always seem to be the ones that never fade in our eyes?)
This is not to say that I won’t do some comics once “Tron: Legacy” comes out.
Hope ya’ll are enjoying these comics. They’ve been fun to create.
There are two movies out this weekend that I would deem worthy to be put in the “must see” category.
First on my list is “Scott Pilgram vs The World.” This film has been well advertised with eye catching trailers. It brings an interesting mix of nerdy, cheesy, romantic and poignant all rolled up in a colorful package wrapped with a bow of Comic Book “KABLAM” !!!
Also check out the online comic tie in on the Cartoon Network site.

The Second must see movie for this weekend is the “Expendables.” This movie has pretty much every action movie lover revved up. After all it has every action hero still alive in it or so the trailers keep reminding us.

The only thing that would make this movie more actiony would be if they dropped them all on a planet of Preditor Aliens. Oh, wait, they made that movie already (Preditors) and it was Awwwsome !!!
Honestly though, is this move really any more than a last trot around the track for a bunch of worn out old show ponies before they’re put out to pasture? But we love’em anyways and so will pay the price of a ticket to cheer them all on again.
Happy movie watching.

Pull out your best orange outfits and wear them with pride. Whataburger is celebrating their 60th birthday on August 3rd from 5pm-8pm. Just stop by your neighborhood Whataburger, show off your orange and get a free Whataburger.
This has been the week for major mile markers.
I checked the Lazy Bones profile on the Webcomic List to find over 1000 views this month.
The Webcomic List has over 50,000 online comics listed with a ranking scale from the highest number to the lowest. The lowest rank being the top ranked comic. Currently, Lazy Bones is only in the top 500 of the list’s ranks, but that’s still in the top 5% of listed comics. Not too shabby.
Now I’m not sure what all goes into determining the ranks, but I do know that the views per month is based on individual IP Addresses that click on the link to the webcomic’s site from their profile on the list per day.
So that means an average of 33 people or more have clicked on the Lazy Bones webcomic link this month.
All I can say is thanks to all of you who have been coming to our site this month through the list and I hope that you have enjoyed reading my comic.
Today’s comic is my 800th webcomic here on the Lazy Bones site.
That means I’m just 200 comics away from the big three zeros. If I keep up my three year long
pace about this time next year I will have created 1000 Lazy Bones webcomics.
To any Webcartoonist that’s a pretty big deal. And it means a lot to me that you all have stuck around to follow my comic through these milestones.
This year at Comic Con, we premiered our “got blue milk?” t-shirts and I was pleased to see how many people seemed interested in it, but unfortunately by Saturday afternoon when I packed up to head out of San Diego we had only sold about a quarter of what we had brought. So instead of leaving my booth mates with a large box full of unsold shirts at the end of the Con on Sunday, I packed up all but five shirts and headed out.
Little did I know how many people would come by our booth on Sunday looking to purchase the Comic Con 2010 exclusive t-shirt. Needless to say, the supply did not fullfill the demand.
So now I have a small stock of these Comic Con Exclusive t-shirts and am now gonna offer them to you guys in the hopes that many of those who came by the booth on Sunday can get a second chance to buy one.
So here’s how we’ll do this:
Send an e-mail with your desired size and quantity to rarcher@prologuecomics.com. I will reply with info on how to send your payment via paypal.
Sizes:
2XL
xL
Large
Price:
$15 (Same Price At The Con)
+ $3 Shipping (That should cover any packaging and shipping costs.)
This is just for the Comic Con 2010 Exclusive T-Shirts that we had for sale in San Diego.
These shirts are high quality Hanes T-Shirts preshrunk. Probably the best T-Shirts I’ve made yet and this is the only chance to get this one since it was made specifically for Comic Con 2010.
If there is enough interest later I may make up some new “got blue milk?” t-shirts for the PrologueComics Store when we get that up. But I will not be printing any more of these Comic Con Exclusive 2010 shirts.
For those who missed the Star Wars The Old Republic Panel this year at Comic Con.

Comic Con International 2010

Well, it is that time of year again for the largest Comic and Popular Culture gathering in North America and very possibly the World.
The Comic Con in San Diego is Huge! With over 200 thousand people attending every day.
Officially the Convention doesn’t start until tomorrow, Thursday July 22nd, but tonight is preview night for Professionals, Press and Attendees who preordered the 4 day pass for the convention.
I’m excited to officially announce that this year I will be exhibiting in a booth sponsored by Prologue’s allied group “The Antidote Trust” or “TAT”.
The Antidote Trust is a group of independant comic book publishers who have been Exhibiting at the International Comic Con as well as many other conventions for over 4 years. Visit the TAT main site to see blogs about their group and the conventions where they exhibit.
These guys have been strong supporters of Prologue Comics since we premiered at Comic Con in 2007. And they do a lot of great work in helping Independant Comic Creators in the industry.
If you’re in San Diego this week for the Big Con, come check us out at Booths S15 – S16 in the Small Press Area of the convention floor.
I’ll be handing out FREE Comic Books again this year. Yes, I said “FREE”.

And we will be premiering a new line of apparel called “Got Blue Milk?” with special Exclusive Comic Con International 2010 T-Shirts for sale.

I’ll be keeping tabs on all the goings on at the Con this year and will keep you all informed along with pictures taken with my new (very awesome) camera.
So check back daily for blog updates as the Con goes on through this weekend.
And don’t forget to follow me on Twitter.

Texas Bombs Oklahoma 67th Anniversary
Ever wonder why Oklahomians have such a grudge against Texans? And I’m not refering to the intense Texas vs Oklahoma football rivalries either. No this tension stims way back to the WWII erra. Back when Texas bombed Oklahoma.
That’s right kids, back in the year 1943 four B-17 bombers from the Delhart Army Air Base in Texas bombed little ol Boise City, Oklahoma.
“The air raid continued for thirty long minutes as the townspeople rushed for cover. The first bomb thundered through the roof of a garage and exploded, digging a four-foot deep hole in the floor. The B-17 made another pass and dropped a second bomb that struck the white framed Baptist church, exploding beside the building and breaking out several windows. The crater was three feet deep.”
Luckly there where no fatalities:
“While the bombing left numerous craters in the town, no one was actually injured. The bombs were 100-pound practice explosives. Each bomb was filled with four pounds of dynamite and ninety pounds of sand. There was no damage besides the garage and the church, and a few deep craters in the city.
This accidental bombing made Boise City famous; it is the only continental American town to be bombed during World War II. The estimated property damage to the city? Less than $25.”
In truth it was all an accident, and 67 years later we can all laught at it. The bombing crew that had made a 45-mile mistake went on to lead an 800-plane daylight raid on Berlin and became one of the most decorated of World War II. All of the crewmembers survived the war and one crewmember even went on to marry a Boise City Girl.
Hey, everyone, good news.
